In an open letter to its customers, Michael V. Migyanko, Owner and President of Pike Sanitation, Inc. states the business and its services have been sold to Rumpke as of Aug. 1, 2013.
“While the name on the truck will change, rest assured that Rumpke is committed to providing the quality service you have come to expect and deserve. The two companies are working together to ensure a seamless transition and provide your service without any interruptions,” Migyanko said. “During the transition, your day of collection will remain the same. Residential customers should continue to place trash out for collection the night before your scheduled pickup day. Rumpke will contact you if any service-related changes are necessary.”
The purchase includes approximately 13,000 customers throughout Scioto, Adams, Jackson, Highland, Pike, Ross and Vinton counties in Ohio.
In a released statement, Amanda Pratt, director of communications at Rumpke said,
“Rumpke very much looks forward to getting to know its new customers and to offering them the best service possible. We realize that we have to work hard to ensure that our service is top notch and top choice for our customers. Rumpke is committed to doing just that.”
With the agreement, Rumpke expects to add more than 40 new employees, if all pre-employment qualifications are met.
“Rumpke is eager to welcome new team members. They have excellent experience, knowledge and skills, and we are grateful to have them on board,” said Pratt.
The Pike Sanitation offices will temporarily remain at 123 S. Lock St. in Waverly to accept payments for Pike Sanitation invoices.
Headquartered near Cincinnati with regional offices throughout Ohio, Rumpke is one of the nation’s largest privately owned residential and commercial waste and recycling firms, employing more than 2,500 people and providing service to areas of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia.
